Wristbands, Passing Trees, Double Hash - More Coach's Office tools to make your job easier.
Three updated features in version 8: 1) to aid in creating wristband print outs in the playbook 2) to making drawing a passing tree easier and 3) double hash marks in the playbook.
Playbook: Show Formations - Use for Wristbands & More
Inserting Play Names into Word Tables for Wristbands
Instead of laying out wristband templates in a spreadsheet or other program and typing the play names each time, create the wristbands in the playbook. You've already entered play and formation names into the chalkboard list - in the offense, front, and coverage dropdowns. And if you have the script, you may have added names to the play names list. Now you can access those names while in the playbook word box.
A new time-saving feature in version 8 is the addition of the "Show Formations" tool in the Word Processing tool of the playbook. (Play names only, not the chalkboard graphic play with players and routes.)
The steps in figure 1:
- Create a table in a word box.
- Click the cursor in a row.
- Click the "Show Formations" tool.
- The dropdown lists display: offense, play name (from script), front name, and coverage name.
- Choose a name from one or more of the dropdown lists.
- Use a combination of play names from the lists and typed text.

"No Symbol" Player Attribute - Use for Passing Trees & More
Using Multiple Players to Create Passing Trees
You can more easily create a passing tree by using multiple players. How? Choose the "no symbol" player attribute for players whose routes you want to display but not their symbol. In figure 2, the red and blue player symbols have route segments necessary for the passing tree. Choose "no symbol" for each player and get a route that looks like the one in figure 3.
In versions earlier than 8.01.173, the "no symbol" attribute required that the player first had a text label so that the player was always identifiable. Then the text had to be deleted after choosing "no symbol." The update in version 8 allows you to skip these steps.
To complete the passing tree, insert the formation in a playbox in the playbook. Add the number labels with the text tool and insert a word table (in a word box) to add the descriptions. (See figure 4.) These capabilities were already available in the previous version but commented on here for a complete solution on how to finish the passing tree.

Double Hash Marks in the Playbook
The playbook has left and right hash mark tools. See both tools in figure 5 and an example of both in use in figure 6.
